CEnT-S: the new unified CISIA english test

CEnT-S: the new unified CISIA english test

Starting in November 2025, CISIA will launch the CEnT-S: the new English test that will replace the previous English TOLC types (I, E and F).

This new test is designed to simplify and standardise knowledge assessment and will be required for admission to degree courses in Engineering, Economics, Pharmacy, and other scientific fields that are mainly held in English.

Here is some more information:

How to take the CEnT-S

Like all CISIA tests, the CEnT-S will be available in 2 formats, ensuring security and flexibility:

  • @UNI: in university classrooms
  • @HOME: remotely.

When and where to take the CEnT-S

There will be 4 macro-periods for taking the test:

  • November, December, January (first macro-period)
  • February, March (second macro-period)
  • April, May, June (third macro-period)
  • September, October (fourth macro-period).

Participants may book and take the test only once per macro-period. The test may be taken with any university, even if it is not the one to which the participant intends to apply. The result will be valid for all universities that require the CEnT-S for admission.

CEnT-S results

At the end of the test, the number of correct, unanswered, and incorrect responses will be provided, both in total and by section. However, the PDF with the score will only be available at the end of the macro-period.

The normalised score

Each participant's score will be normalised at the end of the macro-period. Normalisation is a necessary procedure to address potential differences in test difficulty. This process ensures equal access opportunities for all participants, guaranteeing fairness and comparability across tests.

The normalised score, which is the final official test score, will be available in the CISIA Student Area only at the end of the macro-period in which the test has been taken:

  • from January 30th for the first macro-period
  • from March 31st for the second macro-period
  • from June 30th for the third macro-period
  • from October 30th for the fourth macro-period.

To learn more about CEnT-S, and the application procedures and deadlines, read the admission notice of the chosen degree course on the university website.
