Da oggi, martedì 4 novembre, prende vita ufficialmente il CEnT-S, il nuovo test in inglese che va a sostituire gli English TOLC. A partire dai prossimi giorni sarà dunque possibile prenotarsi per sostenere la prova richiesta per l’accesso ai corsi di laurea in ingegneria, economia, farmacia e ad altri corsi nel settore scientifico che si svolgono principalmente in inglese.

Attenzione: le università apriranno le iscrizioni delle date del primo macro-periodo (27 novembre e 16 dicembre 2025, 15 gennaio 2026) e la possibilità di iscriversi comparirà in calendario con modalità di erogazione, posti disponibili, data di fine iscrizione; per verificare la disponibilità di una delle date previste sarà necessario visitare spesso la pagina.

Che cosa è il CEnT-S

È un test composto da 5 sezioni (mathematics, reasoning on texts and data, biology, chemistry, physics) per un totale di 55 domande e 110 minuti di tempo massimo. Come per i precedenti English-TOLC, sarà possibile fare il test sia nella modalità @UNI, sia in quella @CASA.

Alcune particolarità del CEnT-S

• Si tiene in 4 macro-periodi (novembre-gennaio, febbraio-marzo, aprile-giugno, settembre-ottobre)
• a fine prova si ottiene un punteggio, dato dalla somma dei punteggi ottenuti rispondendo alle domande (1 punto alla risposta corretta, 0 punti alla risposta non data, -0,25 punti alla risposta sbagliata), che in coda a ciascun macro-periodo viene normalizzato, con una procedura statistica, in modo da rendere comparabili i punteggi, anche nel caso in cui ciascuno affronti una versione diversa del test
• ogni sezione ha un tempo minimo pari al 50% del tempo massimo, non si può passare alla sezione successiva prima del termine del tempo minimo
• si tengono esclusivamente in turno pomeridiano, a partire dalle 14:30 (ora italiana) con una procedura di accesso che viene comunicata nel dettaglio a chi si iscrive
• il contributo di iscrizione è pari a 55 €
• in caso di assenza, e solo per la prima assenza, il pagamento del contributo consente l’iscrizione a un altro CEnT-S da fare entro il termine del 4° macro-periodo.

The new CenT-S is here

The new phase of English tests starts

Starting today, Tuesday, November 4th, the CEnT-S, the new English test that replaces the English TOLC, is officially launched. In the next few days, it will be possible to book the test required for admission to degree courses in Engineering, Economics, Pharmacy, and degree courses in other scientific fields, mainly taught in English.

Please note: universities will open bookings for the dates of the 1st macro-period (November 27th and December 16th, 2025, January 15th, 2026) and the available dates will be listed in the calendar with the format, available seats and booking deadline. What is the CEnT-S?

It is a test composed of 5 sections (Mathematics, Reasoning on texts and data, Biology, Chemistry, Physics) for a total of 55 questions and a maximum duration of 110 minutes. As with previous English TOLCs, it will be possible to take the test in both @UNI and @HOME formats.

Some special features of the CEnT-S

• It is held in 4 macro-periods (November-January, February-March, April-June, September-October)
• at the end of the test, a score is obtained, calculated by summing up the points earned for each question (1 point for a correct answer, 0 points for an unanswered question, and -0.25 points for an incorrect answer). At the end of each macro-period, the score is normalised using a statistical procedure to ensure comparability across tests
• each section has a set time limit. Participants must spend at least 50% of the allocated time in each section before proceeding to the next one
• the test is held exclusively in the afternoon, starting at 2:30 PM (Italian time zone). The access procedure is communicated in detail to those who book the test
• the booking fee is 55 Euros
• in the event of missing a CEnT-S for the first time, a credit will be granted the following day. This credit can be used only once to book another CEnT-S, by the last date of the 4th macro-period.
